Father, tomorrow matters to me, and You know how much. I have prepared what I can prepare; now I give You the rest. Quiet the rehearsing in my head enough to let me sleep. Whatever happens in that room, my future is not decided by a hiring manager; it rests with You, and it has for a long time. Let me walk in tomorrow already at peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Lord, I am in the parking lot and my heart is pounding. Be with my mouth, as You promised Moses, and teach me what I should say. Bring to mind what I know, keep my thoughts in order, and let me be honestly myself rather than a nervous performance of myself. Lord, the interview is over and now comes the refreshing of the inbox. I did what I could do; the decision is out of my hands, which is exactly where trusting You begins. Is it okay to pray for a specific job? +

Yes. Scripture invites specific requests, and wanting this particular job is nothing to hide from God. Ask for it plainly, and ask at the same time for the grace to trust Him if the answer turns out to be a better-timed no.

What should I pray if I keep getting rejected? +

Bring the discouragement itself to God, not just the next application. A long search wears down more than a resume; it wears down identity. Pray Psalm 90:17 over your work, ask for one next step, and let someone you trust know how you are really doing.

Does praying replace preparing for the interview? +

No. Prayer and preparation are teammates. Research the company, practice your answers, sleep, and pray over all of it. Committing your work to the Lord assumes there is work to commit.
